ABCs of Salvation Admit that you are a sinner (sin is disobeying God’s commandments; falling short of what God would have us do and be) When Adam and Eve ate fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil they brought sin into the world. From that day forward everybody was born a sinner - separated from God. -Genesis 3:1-24 Because of our sin, we are separated from God. “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 The penalty for our sin is death “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:23 Believe that Jesus died for our sins, rose again on the third day and now sits on the right hand of God. He did this so we may have eternal life in Heaven. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin! “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Confess your sin and choose to accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sin and eternal separation from God! “For whosoever calls on the name of the shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heat that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 Can you be sure that if you ask Christ to save you, he will? “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God…these things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:1,13 God has a wonderful plan for your life! “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10b Say a personal prayer to God admitting that you are a sinner, believing that Jesus came to save you from you sin, and choosing to accept the gift of eternal life provided only through Jesus Christ.
